I am using AMD processors since \'99 having 2 Desktops & 1 laptop. Never had any problem due to overheating, even did overclocking during winter colds. Always club good things together & don\'t believe on the Hardware seller, do ur own research on Internet or PC magazines.
Intel have spelled there (lack of) care for the customers. They want them to buy a 32 bit processor now & upgrade next yr when MS Vista with 64 bit comes in. Great sales strategy for the short term. But, not for the long term & definately not for the informed customers.
I hope when the article writer was saying RAM on CPU, it was Cache memory which is a memory faster than RAM & intergrated in the processor itself. AMD mostly have it higher than Intel.
is this an end to intelopoly ? i think so....... because Intel is contradicting itself, in their attempt to defend their market position, they said -AMD is playing with the \\\"cheap tag\\\", they are not providing any value other than low cost; then what is their 64 bit processor? does Intel think that their 32 bit is perfect for what ever applications performed today ? only MS vista needs 64 bit ? being an Intel customer, i believe that a 64 bit processor will be more useful and if Intel wants me to remain with them, just request (taking it seriously or not is up to them but mind that only customers can keep u in business), don\\\'t wait for MS when u want to give something to your customer, if can prove that your existence is not tied up with Microsoft.
A lot of details about the advantage , price factors etc have been discussed but no where its availability is mentioned. Can some one concerned inform tht public the address of the distributor, agent etc. We have been hearing of this PC for Rs.10000/- for quite some time. An Advt. to this effect will be helpful.
Being a hardcore AMD fan, I am overjoyed to hear about AMD's plan to launch PC for Rs. 10,000.00. Now I can recomend more AMD's to my friends, However, AMD should think about improving the availability of AMD compatible motherboards.
64 bit is only twice as fast as 32 bit. The RAM is bought separately from the chip. I don't think athlon makes RAMs, does it? I myself use athlon and find its performance faster. But there are certain negatives. The temperature, for instance. So, Athlon computers are liable to more wear and tear inside. Plus, there are hundreds of other problems. Athlon is not really that good with parallel processing. You open more than two applications and the speed reduces considerably.
Yuk, yuk, AMD is finally getting what has been long denied. AMD processors are far better than Intel processors in all respects and are far more cheaper than Intel counterparts. AMD beats Intel in most benchmarks. Just wait another year or two.
