Review ?????
by vishal on Nov 13, 2005 01:02 AM

is it a Review??

It seems article was only framed to trivislize and lampoon such a nice attempt to sinpire the youth to listen to their inner voice and to do introspection for themseleves.

I guess as rightly said by the Chetan Bhagat in the book itself that all old people think that they have right to judge the younger generation.

and this review is the best example.

well still no one would eer stop the magic of chetan bhagat as its already spreading fast in every corner of india.

Waste of time

I started reading this book with a lot of expectations. But I am thoroughly disappointed after reading it. Chetan could have avoided that Bollywood style reunion of shyam and Priyanka.. Yuck that narration was just out of a Hindi Film! Just couldn't believe how a good writer could stoop to such level. And the plot to save the call center was even worse! It lacks common sense.

Dear Reviewer, u r out of sync

Unlike so many things in life today --- abstract art, modern novels, experimental interior decorations ---- this novel is very very REAL and something we can totally relate to. Our society seems to have evolved these kind of ideas which do not have ANY relation to reality and are dull and morose. Who would want to jam in between the busy routine life a boring morose novel which is not related to us at all.
Maybe its a wake up call for all the authors who are writing about subjects which do NOT relate to the majority.
Maybe its also about time that the society acknowledges the life of royal boredom that Young generation now lives, unlike our ancestors who at least had a Freedom Struggle to fight for.

Book Review: ON@CC

Mr. Singh, pray what are YOUR writing credentials? Any bestsellers? Editorials for prominent national dailies? Please keep in mind that you 'write' for a 'timepass' website, an interesting and informative one, but not exactly Booker material. I've always wondered what gives people (critics) like you the chutzpah to pass judgment on the creative work of others? Did your friends tell you that you are a man of good taste? Or did you write the review to elicit just such a response, for more hits on the site?

We all know what Chetan Bhagat writes and how seriously we need to take his fiction. We really don't need analysis on 'obvious structure to characterisation flaws'. Please try something original.

One night@ the call center

I don't agree with the review...I think that Chetan Bhagat has struck the right chord in the hearts of thousands of Indians who slog it out night and day to earn a living....I think he's done a great job by writing abt reality instead of just penning down dreams and stories like other writers... which sounds so stupid in the real world...
Having said that I must say that 5 point someone was a better one....somehow One night @ the call center is not as intriguing...

Well, to start with, I liked ON@CC and could relate to it Period.
Bhagat has targetted the younger lot (18-25) and it seems to have worked for him.

Well...one must admit the book is certainly not a literary masterpiece; but may be its popular because the poeple in ITES industry can connect to it.
As MR.Kishore Singh has written : any journalist could have written it; agreed ; but they havnt till now right?
so may be this is the first book which actually is based on lives of people working in the IT industry ; more precisely the ITES industry.
Hence the writer certainly deserves some applause if not any award.
