"Hathway has also slashed registration fee. Additional downloads will be charged at 90 paise per MB."
Then again the article says
"It has always been our endeavour to make Internet affordable for the masses and encourage Internet usage. There will be no restriction on the usage limit that which will enable subscribers surf comfortably," K. Jayaraman, MD & CEO, Hathway said"

Until TRAI imposes strict fines on isps calling themselves broad-banded with a vague "upto 256".....

what the hell does this &@#$ing "upto" mean. Literally, it means from 0 (denial of service)to a 56 crawl, or may be slightly more.

U cant call it broadband !!!!! Can you ?

TRAI should make them talk the right language of assuring of an internet connection "with a minimum speed of 256." and warn the service providers against any vague or ambiguous terminology in their ads.

When u phone them for clarifications, not a single soul in their entire organization is prepared to clarify !

In India all kinds of service providers have been constantly, continuously, and religiously taking us for a ride, fooling and looting.

TRAI must pounce heavily upon these operators, cancel their licences, impose further fines for non-delivery, etc. Only then would they come to their senses.

And this applies to the sarkar's blue eyed boys, too, namely BSNL and MTNL who still continue to behave like Robert Clives.

RIM thinks there is no authority in India that can challenge or check them.

In the recent deluge in Mumbai, not only the landlines, but also the cell phones proved unreliable.

Why ?
