driving in lanes
by nitin sajwan on Nov 14, 2008 01:07 PM

Driving in lanes is as important as eating healthy food. You mess up with your lane and you will face an accident, just like eating unhealthy food leads to stomach disorders. Hence, simple and straight drive in your lanes, no matter u r getting late for office, movie, date, whatever. I urge all delhi citizens to be on their lanes while driving, it will cut down the accident rates which we are witnessing in delhi and the uncertainty of one's life. Government should also run programs to educate the citizens of delhi about the lane system, and once the education is over, start putting fines to non-followers.

Traffic rules and regulations
by nitin sajwan on Nov 14, 2008 01:00 PM

We always tell our kids to follow the traffic rules and regulations. But do we really follow those in our real life ? Answer is quite simple... NO..

My suggestion to the govt. is to impose heavy (really heavy) fines to the guys not following the traffic rules and regulations. In addition to this, we must not forget the corruption in the police system by which the guilty person is being released without fining. My suggestion to solve this problem is to make the policemen on duty watched by a camera while charging a guilty person, also by doing this we have a proof of the person breaking the law. This is a simple technique by which traffic law breakders can be reduced.. i would be more than happy to work with the concerned department to solve this problem

concept of hygeine and occupational health and safety
by nitin sajwan on Nov 14, 2008 12:47 PM

The concept of hygeing and occupational health & safety must be applied by law in delhi. Breaking of this law should attract heavy fines and credit loss... it should be the responsibility of each and every citizen of delhi... This is a sure shot rule that can make clean and safe delhi.. i would appreciate govts. initiative on this and i will feel great to help the govt. in this regard..

Safety during commuting
by nitin sajwan on Nov 14, 2008 12:39 PM

Keeping an eye on safety in the public transports, we must have camera surveillance in all the public transport running in delhi (the applying cost is worth it), a part of responsibility should also be delegated to the workers in the public transport ie. drivers, conductors...

Having all the infrastructure developed there will be need of high security system. And for that hidden camras should be installed if possible at all places. This will help save new infrastructure and to reduce other crimes.

Delhi a super city by 2010!
by s subramanyan on Jan 23, 2005 04:01 PM

Enough of this pampering the capital city. Time for the politicians to think of Mumbai and retrieve it from further devastation by indiscriminate construction. It is already a case of corporate takeover, one where the writ of the builders and developers runs!

Great Plans
by Ankit Agrawal on Jan 22, 2005 07:29 PM

Its really nice to hear something like this being planned for the so called capital of our country!!!
But planning all this only with commonwealth games in mind is too sad every city should be developed in such a way which will by itself attract biggest events of the world.
Places like Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad are equally important with great potential just by developing the infra!!!!!

Delhi a supercity by 2010
by Saurabh Marwaha on Jan 22, 2005 07:27 PM

It was good to read the article which suggested the measures taken be the Govt of Delhi to make Delhi a world class city by 2010.

But according to me there was a big point missing from it.

It is the menance of Stray Cattle and Stray Dogs. I dont know why the Government is not doing much to keep this big menance away. Even if the govt is able to accomplish all those things, till the time we have Stray Cattle roaming Freely on the roads, we will be not be able to call Delhi a world class city. These animals pose a big danger to everyone on the road be it vehicles or padestrians.
