You have mentioned Lijjat papad cost Rs 16.25 per K.g. all over India. But we are getting at Rs 18/- for only 250-300gms(per packet) in Mumbai. So how much does the retailer and distributer earn ?. Can there be some justice to the consumer for the price.
THough a humble beginning but remaining humble even after getting a strong foundation, takes real courage, determination, perseverance & above all faith in your self & others around you. It like a mango tree which is full of shade in summer laden with sweet mangoes. THough the original planter of the tree is no more but his tree is still reaping the fruits for others in the most humble manner.
Hats off & heart felt salute to the organisation called " LIjjat" & to its all bens.
Dear Sir, The news article on Lijat Papad is one of the best read article i have read in Rediff so far. In Harvard Business School only 2 examples are taken from India for their case studies. One is the Dabbawallahs (for their sheer 99.99% accuracy)of Mumbai and other one is Lijat Papad. The article remainds me that big corporates in India have to take the core mangement principles from these two organisations to excel themselves not only in India but also in Globally competitive business.
Ya, it is really a good message to learn that women are no more less than men. Infact, they can do whatever they desire.
The simplicity and the respect for quality are the only steps of success to Lijjat family.
Inspite of outsourcing the core production process, still there is consistent quality in its output, because since birth I have seen Lijjat Papad coming at our home but hardly seen any deviation in any of its unit production i.e shape, size etc. But I never knew that they are home made. I thought they must be rolled in machines. This really touched my heart.
The good thing is they are very crispy, and does not stick in mouth and also have appropriate amount of ingredients like salt, soda khar, pepper etc. VISPI PATWA & FAMILY,
