by muralidhar on Nov 13, 2004 09:42 PM

all jobs have some kind of problems
what is the best thing in call centre? it is to get a job with minimum educational qualification and good pay ( least 10000 and max 18000 including incentives). That too US process has difficulties, for UK its just 5 hour difference, Chalega Boss,

this job gives time to do other works too

i like it. But i iagree that a little bit of health upset happenns, what to do, thats life

i m 21, completed diploma and i am earning good pay where people elder than me with M.Tech degrees are not in a job and they are 29

Work in a BPO unit? Beware
by Ramesh on Sep 22, 2004 08:03 AM

This very concerned "comrade" economist now is so concerned about having foreign experts in the planning commission that he is willing to resign from the panel committee with other comrades. And meanwhile he has also volunteered that all BPO employees would rather be unemployed in a job-starved country than work for evil MNCs from the west...

Work in a BPO unit? Beware
by Ramesh on Sep 21, 2004 08:19 AM

Recently 15000 unemployed including engineers and MBAs applied for 2 peon jobs in the delhi region. And in the past several yrs 90 % of all jobs have been created in the unorganized sector which pay close to poverty wages. The competition in the future is going to be much more intense with 10 million new job seekers each yr. Mr Chandrasekhran would have the BPOs guys rather apply and wait for peon jobs or unorganised sector jobs. After all he is not providing any new jobs, he can provide with all the opinions... I have worked in a steel plant and a BPO and I love my BPO job. This sounds more like a commie guy upset over lack of strikes and gheraos in the new economy jobs. BTW, BPO is not just voice business, it encompasses a lot more than that and surely just like in s/w India will start at the bottom of the ladder before graduating for the better jobs. And the BPO employees of today will be leading the march into the future.

Well said, but who will bell the cat
by Vijay on Sep 20, 2004 11:23 AM

Mr.C P Chandrasekaran,
I am really pleased with this article. In order to safeguard all Indians who work in this industry do we have to wait for another Revolution, do we need another Kark Marks. These questions remain unanswered. As, we know that, for the population we have, we need to generate jobs and at teh same time should safeguard ourselves. It is the assumption of the West that we Indians are soft and accept whatever is offered, which is true to an extent but it is not the whole truth. They fail to understand what we truly are. The best we can hope is, the 'Labor Law' get more teeth and they are 'Implemented' and not remain on paper. I only hope that there will be lighit at the end of the tunnel.
Regards,
Vijay

The article is well articulted after studiously gathering the facts of one of the modern job positions in and around industry.
This article would prove as an eye opener and guiding star for those who hunt for the job for choosing 'right' stuff.
Thanks for shring,
