Outsourcing??
by Tito Mathews on Jun 22, 2004 03:23 AM

It would be wrong to call this outsourcing. It has to do more with ones spiritual attachement to ones place of origin rather than any cost cutting intentions. How many prayer request from people of non-indian origin do these priests receive?

Give me the mantras in Roman Script!
by Ramesh Kapoor on Jun 22, 2004 12:56 AM

My parents believed in Arya Samaj rituals and I have the 'sanskara vidi' book in Hindi/Sanskrit. I am Hindi/Sanskrit illiterate. My mother performed various vidis during her time and so has her brother (my maternal uncle lives in England).

My daughter is shortly getting married and we have found a pandit to perform the wedding ceremony but are finding a little difficulty to perform the vidi of the Chuda Ceremony. I have given the book to my sister in law but am not sure whether she will be able to do justice at the occasion. This ceremony unfortunately cannot be outsourced, and there are the so called 'pandits' who charge anything for the occasion, and some of them are oblivious to our Punjabi customs. So, at the end of day, it means get a book written in Roman Script and we will be able to do justice to the cause.

Rediff.com through India Abroad can sell our religious books written in Roman Scripts for us to recite the ved mantras for a given occasion. We will appreciate this service.

Do not term it outsourcing

I do not agree with using the term outsourcing in the contest of catholic prayers/masses. It is because of the lack of priests in US/UK/Europe, masses are offered in kerala and oyher parts of India. Outsourcing always means cheap labor, but here an American has to pay the same amount that he has supposed to pay in US for masses/prayers in India. So it is not for cheap labor, cost is the same, but just beacuse there are not enough resources to handle the requests.

Too bad man. Church in the western countries is hiring cheap labor in India and is still not passing on the benefits of lower costs to its clients in the western countries. May be they are keeping the margin to fund conversion activities in India :-( :-(

We have to ensure that while religion and its outsourcing is gaining ground-"mine is the only true religion" and "mine is the only religion recognised by God" type of forces are continuously weakened-and ultimately thouroughly decimated.Religious Supremacists should be identified, shunned, and outlawed-like Racial Supremcists and Caste Supremacists have been dealt with.Only then, can genuine tolerance develop in Bharat-and genuine secularism take deep strong roots.

Religious outsourcing.
by BS.Venkataraman on Jun 21, 2004 03:06 PM  | Hide replies

Everything is amtter of belief which is more important. Infact I myself had meditated(japa) for a week and the patient in koma stage got back to life.Ofcourse her fate was favourable! Once you inculcte the habit of meditation in regular life definetely we can avoid unexpected health hazards, stress and strain which is common in westernscountries. The govt.of India has to streamline such activities so that the real needy gets the benefit and not cheated. All sciences and mechanisms are in the apostle of the ALMIGHTY only!!

This crap is beyond any reasonable belief!
A few lines that are in that comment contradict themselves. Fact;meditation is good for health. Fiction: Someone (probably the needy) meditating gets someone else in coma back to consciousness.
This kind of illogical and unreasonable mixing of facts and fictions is the main reason why the facts are not 'selling'.
