It was pleasure to read the success story of Dr. Reddy. I have made my little contribution to this frontrunner by helping to build a forerunner, while working for ICICI in India (now I am in US). When Dr. Reddy was growing in Ibuprofane from 2 tonnes capacity to 200 tons in stages, he proposed to ICICI funding for a Rs. 50 lacs R&D center that did not receive support. I then worked with his people for developing a modest proposal for R&D for 15 products and provided funding on concessional terms. The success of this project was I believe, the forerunner.
