its an absolute eye wash

These guys wanted to increase their family share in reliance group. They found out a method by which they can reduce raising price of reliance shares. The best strategy was to show to the market that they have mutual rift and they are in verge of split. It hit bullseye. the out come was they announced yesterday, that they are gonna buy 10% reliance share from the market. The amount they saved from the rift was some were in the tune of 600Crs. They are gonna shell out some 2400crs at the place of 3000 crs. If you see market was booming when the rift began, if they would have been quite their share price would have gone up futher. Hence cumulative cap saving was somewhere in the tune of 20% its not 12% as highlighted lately.

think over it guys, these guys are playing a very dirty game.

be careful!

Indian Politics Can Spoil Every Thing
by Arindam Sengupta on Dec 22, 2004 11:54 AM

Indian Politics Can Spoil Every Thing. It has spoiled all good things that India possessed; - -the culture the values the education the ethics the morality the patriotism the environment the business and what not !!! Now it is to be seen whether these Amabni brothers can remain in the same boat or not. Whether they can keep themselves away from politics to maintain excellence in their actual field of activities.

This is the land of tradition - salute the big brother, do what he say!

Younger brothers of Ram have done so, so are of Yudhistir's and even brothers of Duryadhan have done ( of course exceptone)

One request to brothers;

Elders advise young children in the house - grow and live like Ram & Lakshman.

Let there not be an example to the next generation - "don't fight like Ambani brothers".

Well abridged story
by Dayanand on Dec 22, 2004 10:18 AM

This piece is well abridged and well told. It covers the entire gamut of issues surrounding the Reliance' ownership tussel. Why read hundred articles; read this one instead! Can we expect more such articles on other burning issues as well?

Ambanis at war
by Krishna on Dec 22, 2004 08:54 AM

At the end of the day, the Indian concept of Sethji or Lalaji management does not work in modern enterprises.

It is time the common people of this country who are in a position to influence opinion, assert themselves to bring in professional management into organizations - not by the choice of the owners, but by statutory compulsion, like the auditing process in accounts. The lalaji management stinks, and stifles. To propel Indian industry and entrepreneurship, throw out the lalas, their chamchas and bring in accountable, professional management.

Why Ambanis at war in public?
by Vijay on Dec 22, 2004 06:34 AM

They are just fooling the stock holders. When the stock value reaches a rock bottom, they can purchase all back and increase their stake in the group.

Otherwise do anyone ever think that a successful company will do this?

The war is a hoax..to off-load small investors
by sankalan on Dec 22, 2004 01:27 AM

I don't think there is anything serious going on in the family war..it's all drama..and see how the share value has gone down..on 18th Nov it was 545.55..it fell down to 503.55 on 25th Nov..again it went up to 543.35 on 3rd Dec..and 0n 20th Dec it was 480.65.. The share price rise and fall is due to the rumours that there is some thing wrong in between the Ambani brothers..

Due to the rumours , the small investors sold Reliance shares which they had owned for so long and had no plans to sell them in the near future..those shares at lower price could be bought by the RIL itself or by some FII s with whom the Reliance has liason with..when the first round was not enough the Ambani brothers again did something to fuel the rumour and the share price went down..

I firmly believe that the share price will go up again as and when the manipulation is completed..

So hold on folks..who are going to sell..hold on to that..

Reliance fight
by rama on Dec 21, 2004 11:27 PM

It's all hogwash. They are fighting in public so that share value of reliance group cos. come down so that they corner shares at cheap rates then again they will jackup prices to sell at large profit. This is game dhiru was master now only his sons are following his footsteps. reliance shareholders don't panick hold on you will be rewarded with good price.
