Sahara India woos 'honest' Bihar officer
by Rambabu Potluri on Dec 13, 2004 12:29 AM

It is highly appreciable that he has stood by principles and has honestly asked for three years leave which the Bihar Govt should grant him. This way he will be financially confortable as SAHARA would have offered him a good package.
One word of caution though,he should carefully think before taking the plunge as SAHARA is not known for its integrity or ethics.

Is this news??
by Anant on Dec 12, 2004 02:08 AM

Why is this "news"? Fine, one Indian is making fine money and is ranked 4th at one of the many good universities in the US. There are plenty of other eminent academics of Indian origin here, many of whom make a good amount of money - so what? When Jain made Dean of Kellogs, that was indeed news. But this one makes no sense.. it points to an obsession with Indians in the US who make good money.
I saw this piece as a Times Of India frontpage headline as well.. Come on! I'm sure there's more relevant news items out there to write about!

grow up

If an Indian (or a person with some Indian connection) makes some kind of name as a paedophile in the west, Indians would go gaga over it.
There are 1.2 billion Indians in the world. Few of them would achieve a few things. What's the big deal?

If the Hottentots were so numerous they would achieve more
