Did you thought from American common citizen's point
by IndianGuy on Aug 25, 2004 08:47 PM  | Hide replies

How would you feel if you are American common citizen and your job is given to someone who is ready to work cheaper then you. How will you pay loans on home and education, support your family and save for your future.

I also like our country getting jobs and our people are prospering, but do we want to feed our children by taking some else's child's bread? Working in US I have seen life of common people who are struggling like we do in India. They are just common people like you and me.

Local jobs send money back into the economy via tax and other revenue. How will state pay for Offshoring costs when people do not pay taxes because of unemployment.

Tomorrow if any indian looses his job he goes straight to Banglore but where John working in San-Hose will go? Should he relocate his family to Banglore, work cheaper then us and take our job? We need to answer all these questions.

Its a nice emotional message, i doubt the person who wrote this message is really an indian, has he forgotten that still in india there are people dying out of hunger because they have no job, a man daily commits suicide because he cannot feed his family. How many americans do daily die out of hunger, how many commit suicide, i guess none. There is more pain in india then u.s. Americans today have the luxury of crying on small things like kids, because their ancestors have toiled and worked very hard to make u.s what it is today. The real picture is that the u.s goverment, the u.s companies and the indian job market are really benefiting out of these outsourcing. Its only that a few lazy school-drop out americans and one indianguy above are crying regading this issue.

Why not anti-manufacturing by Liu 10 years ago?
by v on Aug 25, 2004 08:36 PM

Why hasn't the Lius and Nguyens and Yangs and Wongs reacted so vehemently when 10 years ago and even now manufacturing jobs were offshored? Is it because her/his relatives and friends were getting paid and not the kafirs????? In any case, if 1 white collar job is counted, you have to count the equivalent of 10 blue-collar jobs over the past 20-30 years. Essentially, that many Americans have either been pushed up/out or succumbed to them by marrying and sucking upto them????? Are they afraid of loosing their hold on the Americans? Are they afraid of India? Yes, that is what it is. SE Asia and China are afraid of the growing influence of the Indians. Inspite of them having done the same thing that they are now screaming against!!!! Is that why all these people do lots of human rights violations against Indians and essentially turning their American friends/husbands also into psychos!!!! Hehehe, just tell them "You set the example, my dear! Now you cannot talk against it. If you want to, then first get back all the jobs sent to SE Asia and China over the last 20-30 years".

Rather passing Anti-BPO Bill, Governor should concentrate on body building that will denifitely provide a greater sense to think about the economy & people.

ban all american trade, let them get hit where it hurts most
by rayker on Aug 25, 2004 04:05 PM

stop trading in dollars, use euro. well, we depend on them just as they on us. the indo-us trade is going to benefit them most. remember, europe is becoming a very strong power against. we are thier best hope for regular trade! just as we depend on us for everything, if we shift that to europe, like many countries the fallout for US will be HUGE! so far they were complacent, thinking they can get away with everything! hit back with trade !!!

BPO JOBS FROM US
by PRAMOD KUMAR PANDA on Aug 25, 2004 02:01 PM  | Hide replies

If california elects to stop outsourcing to India , should Indians then use products( Microsft Windows and the rest ) from that place ? Indian noise must have to be louder than the Voice of America . Then only the Indians get justice .

It won't make any difference to U.S if they stop outsourcing the jobs to india, but it would definitely make a lot and lot of difference if we stop using products such as microsoft. It would be better to educate the u.s citizens that they are actually gaining out of these outsourcing. The jobs which are getting outsourced are low profile jobs usually don't by school dropped in u.s. and here in india we have graduates doing the same jobs(frustrating indeed).
