I just checked to see correctness of reasons said report.
Length of Surat's airstrip is 1402 mtrs.
If Air Deccan pilots can land their ATR-42's in Kolhapur (length 1370 Mtrs) then I wonder whay can't they do in Surat !.
Mere politics ?
