5 ways to make India Inc great - sky should be the limit
by Reny Mathew Abraham on Jun 22, 2005 02:52 PM

India is doing good now, but still it depends on a lot of other countries for business. We are considered a threat to some countries in terms of business. But if we compare with China we are still far behind, we have to find how to defeat them and not compare ourselves with smaller countries. We have a big presence in knowledge industry, but why not in manufacturing sector. Things available in US are not Made in India its mostly Made in China, why ?

Truely if a once pure communist country like China can be the largest provider of consumer goods for US, we can do it as well. I blame it only on our large and loose political system.

What we should do to think innovatively.
by kathiravan on Aug 01, 2004 12:17 AM

Wonder ful article,

We have a strong mathematical and Science background in our Education system. The flaw in it is lack of Practical Application.None of our School text book say how to apply it nor our mentors teach us.This is the reason why we lag in innovative thinking.Innovation comes only if we get insight of a subject, understand, apply and get the result. 200% accept and in lines of author of the article, the innovation is the Key, has Kalam says "Dream" is path to success. To think innovatively an dream upon it we nedd to see the o/p from theroy. We have become IT Super Power because People have done Practical Work seen the O/p.O/p is what really matters.Education system must drive the student to think, innovate and
Succeed.

Enlightening toughts on Improvising our Country
by Divya on Nov 11, 2003 08:21 PM

Dear Sir,

You article was very thought provoking.. I really appreciate it and fully agree with your ideas.
We must take full advantage of the economy rise and outsourcing tech boom in our country now. This is the time for revolutinising ourselves technically and confirming our berth amongst the developed nations in the world.
This can happen only when people are more responsible towards the country, develop positive attitude and start thinking outside their restricted areas.. meaning create an innovative environment. I feel that the claiming " There are no resource in our country for us to develop our potential" or as u have quoted in your article that about your friend coming back to US due to lack of facilities, are just excuses. There are lots of people, in India who are great successes in their own innovations. It is just the extra effort and will power you need in India (which ofcourse you dont need in US) .. and that is because it is still under current of developing. I would like to say that it is because of such efforts put up by the americans that they are now in a position to lead the world and have the creative environment.
Our outlook and attitude has to change.

5 Ways to Make India Inc Great
by Sivaji Rao Vallurupalli on Oct 30, 2003 01:56 AM

I must congratulate Arindam Banerji for his brilliant article on how to make India great. His piece must get as much wide publicity as possible both in India and abroad. Let's get out of the Kashmir-Pakistan-Taj-Maszid-Mandir syndrome. Let's publicie what we were able to achieve both within the country and abroad, despite the numerous constraints put up by our great politicians and babus. What we essentially need is motivation, innovation, production and publicity to achieve what has been said in Arindam's article. If we do it, then India will be on its way to become the 3rd largest economy in the world in 30 years time. I won't be surprised if the the best brains start migrating to India in about 10-15 years time.
