You have an amazingly simple style of writing that leaves one with a clear picture and understanding of what some our most powerful and influential politicians are up to. cheers
NO. of people below poverty line(actual figures not the Ministry mockery) = 50% of the population
No. of Journalists(Good+Bad) = 1000's if not lakhs
No. of Critics = Every second Indian has an opinion about the other Indian and his activities. Unfortunately 90% of Indian's does not have any opininon about India and if anybody expresses it they will vehemently oppose it.
Rule of LAW = Politicians+Goondas+Power brokers Sadly our judiciary and investigating agencies are OWNED by these people
Result = A parallel economy bigger(howmany times bigger only conjectures) than our Planned/Budgeted/Audited economy
The allegations are bullshit. What is the problem is someone takes an initiative to enable a project which is running short of funds to reach its completion.
The project on completion is going to provide water to million of people as also for agriculture purpose. The water is not for the consumption of Mr Mahajan or Mr Joshi.
And if this transaction is a fraud. Then the revenue earned through operations of railways in Mumbai was deployed for the metro railway project in Kolkatta. Then that transaction should also be called a fraud and investiagated.
...it was an ordinary journalist, thoroughly and genuinely backed and protected by his bosses (where are such bosses nowadays ?) that brought the mighty out of the Oval Office with swollen eyes begging apology from the American people. The mighty eventually had to fall and evacuate the White House. Of course, we are talking about Richard Nixon and Washington Post. To the best of my knowledge, till the very today, the name of the White House informer remains a mystery. Both that deep voice and the journalist (name cannot be recollected) did a laudable service to their nation. And the most ironical part of the whole affair was that the issue for which Dick had to go was so insignificant from our Indian point of view !! Here Laloos chew away hundreds of crores of rupees and still go scot-free. Of course, Mera Bharat Mahaan !!
Here's a journalist whuz made some real efforts to dig out dirty facts abt corrupt officials. Whether its the truth or not, is for the investigating agencies to decide. Action can be taken against the journo if it's not. It's the goddamn tax-payers money they r playin with & the readers just don't seem to care! Just chk out the facts presented & then u'll realise y MTNL shouldn't invest. Rules r there for reason, especially the finance-related ones are important - by breaking them almost 250 crores has gone down the drain. And when kickbacks come into the picture..hey, wots new?!!
I guesss ppl fail to understand "MTNL is a public sector company" means it is partially owned by Taxpayers of this country. Any investment done by MTNL is our money who pay taxes and if MTNL invests in Business units that are sick its loss of MY MONEY. Ppl of this country are forgetting the ppl who pay taxes should hold bureaucrats and politicians accountable for our hard earned money. I hope now you will understand why it is important to invest wisely as the guidelines say Strictly in Business that have highest credit ratings. If you still do not understand please read "Investment basics for Oxymorons"
As an insider to a contracting company engaged in works with MKVDC works, I know that there was corruption in getting and issuing all these bonds from long back. The story is entirely true. Also the opinion of the users that MTNL is getting profits from MH is irrelevant as MKVDC serves MH as a whole. Base point is also that many dams constructed by MKVDC have false cost over runs fuelled by contractors and officials greed - in turn funded by taxpayer's money at a higher interest rate.
I sympathise with the stakeholders! Its outrageous how the Board of a 'Navratna' PSU took (or rather had to take) such an invt decision. Seems like the Govt needs to set its house in order first before targeting promoters who allegedly misuse funds from their companies.
