IIT contribution to India..
by krishna kumar on Jan 19, 2003 11:37 PM

It is time to see more and more iitians in the manufacturing sector.

most of the iit entrepreneurs are mostly in IT or Software of Electronics area...

If some iitians focus their energies non Manufacturing sector too then there no reason why we should say india is a developing country......

iitians should look towards starting firms and divisions in India.. to create wealth in India...rather than just donating money. donating money is good but active participation and involvement in India would mean more commitment and great long term achievement...

cheers
krishna

Being an IIT-KGPite(Geophysics,1984) myself, it feels great to hear and see all the adulations heaped on us!! It is imperative therefore, not to just sit back- but to warn the Citizens of the World - there's much much more to come!
Here's my sincere good wishes to all IITians wherever - JAI HIND !

It's good to be the best!

I am a final year student at the IIT, Kharagpur, doing my B.Tech in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. This meet in CA really brings together what IITians have done in the past fifty years. Being in the oldest IIT, and now at the fag end of my stay here, I have come to realise that, as unconsciously as it may have happened, the rigorous training that I have received here has changed me in more ways than one. I joined as a slightly doddering fresher, and am now about to leave as a confident adult. The professors push students here to excel, because most of them are also ex-IITians, and very well know what we are capable of doing. The event in CA and its motif of making IIT a 'brand name' is really good for those who want to pursue higher studies, which includes me as I have applied to some univs in the US too. With all the greats like Bill Gates and John Hennessey pouring out kudos for IITians, one gets a feeling in the campus that his/her collar cannot go any higher.
Thanks to all the organisers of this event for bringing out IIT as it should have been professed long ago.
It feels good to be the best!
