Respected Mr. Pramod Mahajan was awarded "Telecom Man Of the Year" for his outstanding contribution to the industry and his vision towards India Services.
But he was keen on classes and not masses. He has never replied and attended to corruption compaints. Today CBI has arrested a JTO of BSNL Hingna (on date 24 Feb 2003) for accepting bribe of Rs. 100/-. I was writing to him & all since last three years. I have spent Rs 500 for writing to Mr. Mahajan but it seems that correspondence never reached him.
The removal of Pramod Mahajan was long over due . His abrasive and bias is responsible to a large extent in the mess created in the telecom sector and tangle between WLL and cellular industry . He openly favoured Reliance and influenced ( tried?)the so called regulatory agencies.Even commoner like me was feeling ashamed at the behevior of telecom minister and finally he paid the prize. PM amd DPM should ensure that people of very high integrity only should be given important portfolios.This type of favouritism by ministers will only harm our image out side and can adversely affect our FDI flow.
The problem is pretty simple. The govt. funds are being systematically diverted since independence. That explains why Maharashtra Govt. from being a jewel in the crown of states of India has become a pauper. Today all state governments are in debt way beyond their debt servicing capacity. It is time the people of India stood up and agitated against the economic profligacy on the lines of the way they STOOD UP UNDER JP to fight Emergency. Unless that is done, we can forget india as being a vibrant, soverign nation in near future.
