Can India afford such pilots? I hope Air India pilots will learn some lessons from Indian Air Force pilots.

All such unions/associations not keeping the interest of the organisation in their uppermost mind should be dissolved. Moreover, enough safeguard is available constitutionally, no such body are relevant for the purposes they came into being

It is derecognition now. Amazing that in democracy it is still possible to stifle dissent through such extra judiciary powers, never mind the legitimacy of the protest. The pilots did have a point here in that the officialdom had fairly failed to handle the issue initially. Suspending the guild would only open the next chapter which would be fought in the court while the passengers would fret it out in the waiting halls of international airports. What we need is wisdom and tremendous amount of patience and reasoning from both sides.

Good, Pilots grounded

Well done. I think these pilots earning fat salaries but no qualms have to be taught a lesson. If they demand suitable precautions ( that needs to be advised by a medical panel & not by these "goonda" pilots)to be taken on flights to SARS affected areas, it will be a mature way of dealing.
