Being yourself does not mean you should promote unhealthiness
by archana on Nov 24, 2020 02:04 PM

I empathize with those who cannot lose weight and be healthy due to some medical conditions. But those who can should not turn their inability to adopt a healthy lifestyle into a statement saying "Love yourself the way you are". I believe being fat or thin is not so much about just the physical appearance but it is your body's mechanism which signals you that you are doing something unhealthy which finally results into a "fat" or "skinny" body. And finally, you should make necessary corrections in your lifestyle so that you are at your best physically as well as mentally at all times. Just physically fit appearance does not make you fit.

She admits she has no interest in losing weight and call its "living life on her own terms".

Being fat is not an achievement. Calling fat "curvy" doesn't make it healthy. I admit there are people who are obese due to a medical condition eg. thyroid, but then people like this who are fat because they are simply too lazy to adopt a healthy lifestyle and give excuses such as "living life on their own terms"

I was at 100 Kgs, had sleep apnea, blood pressure, nightly acid reflux, no stamina. Eight months later I am at 73 Kgs without dieting and all the other health problems seem to have disappeared...

Losing weight by crash dieting is not sustainable, losing weight by lifestyle change is. Eat right, get adequate sunshine, exercise regularly is the only way to go about it.
