safety, quality, systems
by Reshma Arora on May 26, 2019 04:15 PM

Data records of citizens is inproperly/not maintained-safety is jeopardised.

Media displayed the rival politicians abusing one another and then congratulating/together post-elections-what is the truth in the contests if educated citizens have to view such discrepancies so often by supposed-leaders?

Defining Democracy, Hindutva and Constitution' with clarity is sought with immediate judiciary corrections via tech-methods that are objective&speedy when allowed to be.

They did not have me on the Voters List
by (null) on May 23, 2019 09:43 PM

Sadly, when I reached the booth where all my family members\' names were, to my shock and dismay I was told that my name did not list in their documents. They said maybe it was because I did not vote in the last elections, but I had voted in 2014. Many others too were not listed. I was told to go to the other booths, and I did try my luck at 3 polling stations, and my bad luck did not leave me. Finally, I found a guy with a Lappy who was helping people with missing names locate their Booth Numbers/addresses. He checked mine and told me that my name was not present in the Electoral Roll. I have been asked to meet my local Counsellor... hoping I get back onto the rolls for the next time.

Don't believe in this system
by Sumit Ganguly on May 20, 2019 05:45 PM  | Hide replies

An overwhelming majority, including me, do not vote because they do not believe anymore in the system.
How come even without performance elected representatives double the salaries and assets within three minutes and 5 years respectively? Why uneducated and criminal candidates are thrust on the electorate? And many such issues which disillusion the abstaining voters/NOTA voters.

Unless there is a paradigm shift or extensive reform in electoral process, Indian voting system is not going to change and inefficient and unsuitable candidates will represent people. In parliamentary democracy people say the last word. But it has become a hipocracy in place of democracy. Hence many people don't believe in the system or vote like robots without knowing any meaningful reason or choice.
