Simply China does not have Pappus, Diggis, Kanayya, and supporters of freebees and reservations. Thay have leaders who take tough decisions in the interests of nation. Politicians do not interfere in education unlike in INdia.
Chinese are willing to work harder than Indians. We like to keep debating all the time and keep questioning everything. We also fool ourselves by thinking that we have achieved a lot by doing minor IT jobs for Americans !

Because, this country was ruled by Congees. Dividing people as Hindus, Muslims, Backward, forward, Dalits,..... Modi is here just four years back. And your blaming Modi shows that why we are backward.

Nehru had a great deal to do with encouraging research in India after 1947. But we lost momentum because of some wrong decisions by politicians including Nehru. One of the major blunders was separating research institutes from universities. Excessive reservations contributed to the rot but they are not the sole cause.
The difference between china and india is that they think about their country. Here we have politics, caste religion, regionalsim.Though the major religion is Budhism, it is relagated to the background. China has got the maximum number of patents, They have manufactured their own 5 generation fighter aircrafts. In defence they have got R&D. Their reliance on foreign defence equipment has become less. They are more self reliant. They export their aircrafts, defence equipment abroad. Most of our brilliant are abroad especially IITians, doctors.

most of our brilliant minds are abroad, many have become senators, started their own business and become millionaires. You will hardly find less chinese starting their own business or entering politics. After their education the Chinese come back and do something for their country

No, American universities have more Chinese than Indian faculty members.
ut Chinese are more patriotic than Indians. A lot of them return to China despite the dictatorship.
