...as if microwave is the problem, but it isn't. Headline should have been—Why heating food in plastic containers is bad for your health—but that wouldn't get many clicks as most people know that.
while plastics release dioxin and are harmful, any cooking in plastic can be equally bad as microvawe. but if you cook using only using microwave safe glassware then microwave beats any other form of cooking as it is the only way of cooking which preserves maximum nutrients with least addition of any harmful compounds. so without plastics microwaves are the way to heat food. i dont think people cook something really ever in microwave. its best used as a heating device. microwave also sterilises foor better than any other known method of cooking. so do have a microwave and use it too. please note - i am a doctor.
