why so much publicity....after-all its only an academic exercise
by rishi on May 10, 2018 01:05 AM

......and academics are not to be turned into commodity as has always happened that led to the deterioration of the very essence of education in India. The picture looks more like a photo-op for some people like RRR who is known to publicly nurture his political-leaning unheard of from such high-professionals. Mr. Mahindra hsould been a little more austere in the launch of this "school" which unquestionably commands a visionary lead in this new area of skilling our youngsters.

As every year goes by,
by piri on May 08, 2018 10:26 PM

the extent to which Indian youngsters (both boys and girls) labour to begin to hopefully look, talk, gesture, laugh, shrug, frown........ at least a wee bit like white men and women do keeps sharply going up !!

But....the more they labour so........the more their negrito draxvidian features and Indian accents stand out !

Happy to read this
by Radhakrishnan G on May 08, 2018 08:08 PM

I am very Happy to read such an Institute is on its way to commence giving values to Arts and Science with a break from the patterns of past.

For the next Generation, we definitely need a shift from Technological studies. Very few institutes of Engg and Tech in our country is okay. Rest all lack proper teaching, infrastructure, Research etc. There are so many so called Tech institutes in India, but how many of them produces Engineers and Techies to lead Engg and Technology in the future ? May be very less.. or even nothing (sorry to write this) How many Engineers and Technies miss out from Campus placements and don't get a job in their career related to their mainstream ? MANY. Thats the reality. How many Engineers and Techies compromise from their maninstream for the sake of money :) ? Many..

Now we should insist our younger generation to study with a good understanding of History, Economics, Most importantly - Environment Science etc. Due to over exploitation and violence this planet is in threat of Human beings. We must have to act on balancing the ecology by way of Planting more trees, Securing Rivers, Mountains, Forests, Animals, Birds - the Nature, developing Natural Farming, Trying to bring back the natural methods of disease curing and medicines etc. Time has come for that.

I expect these kind of newer Institutes should give bigger attention to the topics setting up Think Tanks, applying actions based on Think tank solutions etc.

Solve India's population problem.
by auryas on May 08, 2018 07:14 PM

India's population is NOT just India's problem any more. It is a world crisis. We are producing babies like animals. Unless a driven effort is made , there will be civil war in India within two decades time.

Already 40% of the population facing acute water shortage even for drinking. Because of cancer like urbanization, people are becoming mechanical, psychological train wrecks.

Population control is the biggest problem that the world faces now.

Its good but these things never work
by Jayaprakash Balan on May 08, 2018 11:51 AM

There are many good initiatives taken up by industrialists involving intellectuals, students and people who are committed for social causes and want to do something for the country, but are they able to make even a little difference to the country is a matter of thought, because all these initiatives that are taken up by industrialists or celebrities are only done with a view to publicity or for namesake or the owners are really not committed to do so. Major point is because the owners themselves are never involved in the projects except sponsoring money and they except others to do things and change the society. Else why is it that inspite of so many projects happening and so many people wanting to do something for the society have not been able to make even a little difference in the lives of farmers of our country or improve on agriculture grown or conserve water which are the major concerns of our country. True India is a vast country and the reason given is that reaching everywhere simultaneously is not possible, which is stupid and wrong excuse. Generally when there is festival or any discourse going on, one sees crores of people in hordes thronging to celebrate or listen to discourses. Can't a crore or hands or make a difference in a particular state at a time followed by equal amount of people in every state. Simple thing is that those who talk and boast of wanting to do something for the society themselves never want to get down to grass root level.

Bogus claims and braggarts
by auryas on May 08, 2018 11:34 AM  | Hide replies

Nothing more than Typical Indian big mouth claims.

Every one knows that the actual problem is INdia. Not the world. If they solve issues like Over population and lack of transparency in public life and campaign for rule of law, 20% of world population problems will disappear.

Because we are 20% of humanity and growing faster than mad cow disease.

Exactly! We are suffering from typical 3rd world syndrome.. Bragging, Posing, Flaunting and we don't have the courage to face our own vices and feebleness which drive us to pose and brag; sort of Beggars' Syndrome. Unless a race starts accepting its innate vices and prepares to face them, fight them, it scarcely gets mature. Sense of inferiority compels a race to pose as superior. Very few beings have got the exceptional courage that you possess and exceptions don't rule, so such races will hardly ever change..

Do it and show
by True Voice on May 08, 2018 11:21 AM

Please dont talk too much.
My question.... is it possible for a middle income / low income group aspirant to study in this University? We all know how much those above mentioned Universities like Ashoka and OPJ charge. Ultimately this will become another elite institution which is inaccessible to laymen
