Not exactly. Indians don't lack creativity but what ever they create it is generally suppressed due to reservations. Directly related to who creates and who takes the credit for it.
Steve, Its just your intellectual arrogance which is speaking in spite of knowing the creative contributions which Indians have made to the world be it silicon valley , or the google or the microsoft.The reasons of our slow growth is something else and that is being addressed.Wait and watch...you will take back your statement...

Anyone who is reading my comment and close to Mr. Wozniak, pls. accompany him to any of the Temple or Mosque or any other shrine. Pls. tell him to visit Bengal during Durga Puja festival. There he can see what "Creativity"actually mean. Creativity according to him means new technology I think. He said that New Zealand has More poets/singers/atheletes. I can see atleast one poet/singer in every mahalla in India. Atheletes here does not get enough help from Govt. They do not get the food required to gain the strength required to succeed. Still we got plenty of good quaity atheletes years afters year.

India lacks a culture of creativity...In the developed world creativity is institutionalized into their education system and work culture...creative ideas are not just for adoration but are treated as investment worthy.
Indians are creative..but unfortunately creative individuals are lone wolfed as there is'nt an organized effort to encourage it...that leaves them with not choice but to pursue more mundane careers in the corporate world...

definately, the problem is with the large population having qualification without core liking for the field,so as you say creative indivisuals are working in the field absolutely no connection to their creativity.
