REFORMS IN HIGHER EDUCATION?
by KAUSHIKK Vyas on Aug 02, 2018 08:48 AM

NO, WE SIMPLY TAKE SELF SOLACE AND PRIDE IN DOING SOMETHING.
This reminds me of statement made by one of the USA BASED EXPERT, DURING THE IIM CONCLAVE IN AHMEDABAD, FEW YEARS BACK, Stating :there is ample employment in INDIA but the employable are less.

Unless and until te gap between the EDUCATION AND INDUSTRIES IS BRIDGED, with active participation from both the industry professionals and the academicians. Academicians have never bothered to know what technology is coming to our country for process and commercial industries, in all the fields and prepare themselves prior to such coming to our country and keep on interacting with industries experts so as to make necessary changes in the syllabus from time to time, the exchange of faculties inviting industry professionals to the universities on a regular basis , so the industry professionals should go to universities to tech and the academicians should be send to the respective industries to learn about the industries, the technology in oi refineries, petrochemicals, process and research potential to develop certain key ingredients used or imported by the industries.

The industries should fund and promote research in the universities exclusively on APPLIED not on basic research, which should benefit the industry and the nation.

Reforms in higher education: Have we achieved anything?
by on Jul 30, 2018 12:43 PM

All the privately run universities are either run by business man or by politicians hence all the reforms will be for the name sake. If you really want any reform in this sector we need to work from the ground level.
First of all lets make these profit making universities as a company and treat them as big corporations.
Taking care of all accounts books as the companies act. no other act will work.
2nd make the reforms which are not borrowed or copied. Because the system in developed countries are totally different than India.
3rd If possible work culture should be developed as MNC's.
4th When we can't check the quality of students we should check the quality of teacher/manager of the institute.
