"Pazham" is not pronounced as "Param". I guess the French will not have any problem with it. If someone wants to pronounce pa'zh'am correctly, this is the way to do it. When you say 'ra', you do it by placing the tip of the tongue just above the front teeth. Now, to say 'zha' you curve the tongue and touch the roof of the mouth. There you go......
