Placing comma, at the right place, is very important.Otherwise, whole meaning, can change.

Example below,

Sentence 1
Pardon him not, to be punished.

Sentence 2

Pardon him, not to be punished.

1. Usage of comma.
All of us must have seen the warning on the road side or ear a construction site :

Go slow work in progress.

Now see below the beauty of placement of a comma in the above sentence.

Go , slow work in progress.
Go slow , work in progress.
Go slow work , in progress.

2. Very often we come across the mistake in form of the verb used with did :

a. I didn't did
Correct : I didn't do.

b. They did not went
Correct : They did not go.
