We need to understand that mutton is a luxury not a dire need. No one will die if they dont eat non-veg. Our body is built for eating vegetarian food like vegetables, fruits. Ayurveda does not even recommend cow milk. Its a habit that can be changed. Many people do change their habits over course of time

Plant and vegetables live too. Just like animals and us, serve a divine purpose. Just look a these under a microscope you can see what I am talking about. People change habit out of necessity. In this case it is a man made (electrol) necessity. With a new establishment in power things might change for better or worse. Who knows?
We Indians are habituated to violate rule of law and when someone imposes this strictly we call it harassment. In UAE and other Islamic countries many pork eating families are facing the same problem why there isn't any article about this in the unbiased media? I personally feel the wedding family did the right thing.

In villages no body purchases mutton from meat shop during wedding. Just purchase few live goats, hire a butcher and get fresh mutton. Either the writer or the narrator (since he is a vegetarian) is not aware of this.

I hope you are still continuing the noble habit of not eating meat. Please avoid milk also. It is liquid meat. No, your life won't end if you don't have tea and coffee.

I totally agree with you sir. I urge you to take your passion for vegetarianism one level higher, and avoid all milk and milk based products also. They needlessly harm cows and other animals. Please turn vegan. It will definitely prevent the urge that so many people seem to be having towards cannibalism. Save the holy cow, don't harass it by milking it day in and day out.
What u think it doesn't means it is applicable now things are changed meat is widly consumed it is not stuck to muslim community but now it move ahead to some other religion may not be main course but to please to their VIP's so directly or indirectly it hampers comprehensively .

Why to force to anybody if anybody force you to eat chicken what you will do. There are chicken, egg etc so everybody is not stuck to vegeies tehy have an option and slowly the butcher are also opening their shop. so your liberty ends where the others nose begin.
