Doctors tend to stick together and it is difficult to get one to implicate the other. Also, Doctors get you to sign a bond before a major operation, "they will not be held responsible if something happens" and then your relative dies because of their negligence, you will take action against them won't you?

If they don't want to work, throw them out. People will eventually find an alternative. There is no need to regulate. Let an open market take care of it.

Doctors have a conflict of interest

As to whether to make money or prescribe the correct treatment to a patient. As of today, the hippocratic oath means nothing. Indian Law = Justice will always be delayed and therefore always be denied (e.g. famous actors' cases where witnesses died or disappeared or became hostile). Simply put, a doctor's conduct has to be scrutinized by some mechanism and answerable to a panel or a council.

Especially because often the correct treatment is simple and not so costly, as compared to many of the complicated treatments that Doctors in India prescribe.

which is why incidents like this happen. Why don't we highlight the numerous incidents where Doctors have been found lacking in the way they have behaved, the treatment that they have prescribed and in the way people have suffered as a result of that.

Corrupt,Greedy,Selfish and Human Killers are the Doctors.

All the doctors on one side and all the people of this country on another including socialists, intellectuals and politicians. Naturally the doctors will loose every time since they are the tiniest minority. No strike will ever help them. IMA is a organization that ensures that medical system remains corrupt and Doctors earn by unethical ways. Should ban this organization.

These same Postgraduate students will later join corporate hospitals or setup their own practice to mint money.

Medical profession has lost its charm and respect purely because of greedy doctors and this is quite a normal reaction though the doctor in question in this incident is innocent. My prayers with him.

Rediff - Couldn't you get a better person to approach than Dr. Mrigank. He is all of 26 years and gives out verdict. He is just a toddler in healthcare industry and unfit to make comments.
