It is unfair to charge a transaction fee on a poor man who cannot keep cash in the house. It may be necessary for people working as peons and other similar professions to draw money once a week. This will exceed the limits set and such people will be badly hit. All measures seem to be targeted at the middle and lower middle class, and this should be done away with the soonest.

One of the questions that Public accounts commitee asked the RBI governor Urjit Patel was whether the restriction on withdrawal of currency notes was in accordance with any law. It appears that it was not. If that is so any person who has suffered loss - business or otherwise - due to inability to withdraw money can make a claim against the bank for Compensation

You lost the trick ! The DOOR was half shut.
There was a cash withdrawal restriction but no restriction on actual deposit or withdrawal transactions. As you could always transact digitally without limits.

In addition to Income tax , this is another Tax like Transaction Tax parallely loaded on Both on Tax payers and non-tax incumbents. This Bank Transaction Tax was said to be an alternative to Income Tax so as to dispense with the INCOME TAX SYSTEM, bringing all the Citizens under Transaction Tax not to evade Tax. Banks have already got huge deposits into their kitty during demonitisation whereby even FD interests have been reduced drastically putting the junta in agony , and now as if funds are not enough (to cater to big FISH like Mallyas) and to compensate those NPA (BAD DEBTS of the DEFAULTERs), it is clear that Banks are cunningly loading the Public with no escape routes connivantly supported by Govt. thro RBI. Though I am a BJP Fan only for its PATRIOTISM aspect, this way of hoodwinking of Public by Modiji with just mere slogans like "Sab ke saath - sab ka vikas" ; Jandhan Yojana (but making even the upper middle class and middle class people to join the Poor, i.e. instead of mitigating the Poverty and the no. of Poor, Development slogan etc.,Modiji is trying to add to the Poverty and Poor by his anti-people Policies treating all the People as Tax evaders and Chors at par with the Real TAX EVADERs of RICH AND RICHEST CATEGORIES and by not able to control them. Though UP and UTTARAKHAND victory of BJP is taken by him as acceptance of his Demonitization Policy, who expected that the benefits of demonitization will reach the common people,Bank Transaction Ta

It is not only for big fish, but to pay very high salaries and pensions to bank staff. This govt has not introduced agriculture income tax for big land lords and politicians. Similarly not banned political funding by companies to political parties. Time has come to invent alternate system to Banks where charges are less and interest payment is more on FDRs. I think cooprative banks to think of going big way in urban areas for the convenience of public.
