I think his alumni is just enough to support him and he does not wish to wear any golden shirts too to fund for his outfits.
While the young talent and teacher commitment must be appreciated, it is also a sad reality that IITs have hardly benefitted our country - in fact they have benefitted only the western countries, especially the US over the several decades of its existence (due to "brain drain" phenomenon)
It is also a glaring reality not a single graduate from IIT has joined the defence related establishments (like DRDO) for the past 30 years or so.
We look upon premier institutions like IIT with pride but what is use of talent without attitude?

Make it mandatory for IIT students to work in government organizations for atleast 3 years after completion of their UG or PG. This will help country.
Now that these lotuses from muck n mud has made it to be in a bouquet, the big question would obviously be about course and living expenses and other related expenses - for atleast the next four years. Can someone please enlighten me on this aspect please.

In my opinion, his stature is taller than such awards. An award should be instituted in his name to give recognition for his services to society,.

Agree with you Mr Rao. I have read his book (Super 30) last year and was humbled by Mr Anand's biography.
