My Food My Choice.
by on Jul 16, 2017 01:05 PM

Food habits of people of this country, an irrelevant non issue has been projected as an important national issue to meet the obscure outdated dogmas of a cultural outfit and its political arm. India is a poor country and people struggle hard to make their both end meet. No government worth the name till date peeped into poor man's house to know whether his family has food to eat and means to lead a meaningful life. In our free country since two, three years criminal elements with timirity freely barge into the dwellings of Muslims, Daliths and Christians to know what they cook and eat. It is the most tragic and retrograde development in the country. People are intimidated, killed mimed and lynched with impunity by the storm troopers of communal outfits. Many Muslims and Daliths are killed and we go one discussing, writing and deliberating on a subject which is non of anybody's business.Choice of food is as ancient as our civilization and no one has the right to fiddle with our choice that too with an intention to marginalize the minority communities. I strongly believe that my beloved country cannot be hyjacked for petty political gains.

In our childhood days, our staple food was rice and fish. There are enough fish in our ponds and nearby creek. Vegetable and fruits were expensive which were not affordable. May be there are similar situations for many now also. Moreover, many poor people also keep animal, fish, prawns, chicken for a living .In those situation, vegetarianism for many not suitable and perhaps, a costly habits. Suitable for affluent

to purity in India ??

Really ??

And the fact that more than 60 % of all Indians and more than 70 % of the population in many north Indian states defecating in the open is not, of course, linked in any manner to purity is just coincidental ??

That cities in ^pure^ India invariably count among the filthiest and most polluted in the world surely does not affect the purity of India at all !

That Indians habitually litter, spit and throw refuse all over and generally consider the entire Universe outside the four walls of their houses as a gigantic dump yard will not take away from the purity of India in any manner !

That a very large number of Indians - even middle and upper class Indians - have foul body or mouth odors that hit others standing metres away will not and must not be considered to be affecting the purity of India in any manner !!

Such facts ought not to be raised or referred to when we go into another one of our regular self delusionary ventures about purity and cleanliness, of course !

And oh, of course, such stinks and throwing of refuse and open defecation all are caused solely and exclusively by those eating non-vegetarian food !!

Foul mouth odors are of course, to be considered - forget all about the reality - the afflictions solely of those eating non-vegetarian food !
