IITians then and now
by uday shankar on Jan 10, 2017 10:32 AM

The IIT alumni who are at the helm of affairs in company's are stalling new entrants because they fear competitions from young dynamic individuals. Also 90% of the present generation IITians are not as enterprising and dynamic like those in past. You find better stuff from NIT's (Former REC's). IIT's are like any other ordinary Govt engineering colleges. Intelligent students who could not enter IIT's because of quot system are more focussed and struggle to be the best. They are the best bets any company can look for.

Is there any statistics on the progress of these hired people after say 5 years. Corporate world is a different ball game and calls for skills which are not taught in class room. i have come across many people with such premier degrees unable to perform to the corporate expectations whereas people who had obtained engineering degrees from low profile self financing colleges have done well and rose on the corporate ladder
