Fire Hazard at Restaurants
by Rohan Gidwani on Dec 29, 2017 12:39 PM  | Hide replies

There are Restaurants in Basement in Kamla Mills with no alternate source for escape.

The only authorities to blame are Municipality as it only with their connivance do they operate with impunity

Why do people visit such restaurants where exits are narrow or in the basement?

It seems the fire was triggered by fire show that was being organised by the pub which was burnt to ashes. I mean fire shows, entertainments etc are organised only when there is demand from patrons. The people visiting such up market pubs & restaurants are surely not average Joe. So does not basic common sense apply in terms of what could be potential risk or fire hazard? Is it so essential to celebrate a b'day in the pub with a fire show or fire eaters too boot?

I am in no way justifying the negligence of the BMC or absolving the glaring faults of the owners but then as responsible citizens we too need to do some introspection.
