Set him free!!!
by Ankit Singhal on Aug 18, 2017 03:28 AM  | Hide replies

He is an American, let him free from the roots. He grew up in different culture also given birth by mother who is not Indian?

Kid grows with values where they belong and values given by mother who gives birth not who is the father or what ancestry he has.

Please dont drag such bright kids back to rotten roots of our socially failed nation.

Media plz dont go to interview him and ask questions like do you like daal chawal???

The headline is misleading. Raja Chari is an American citizen by birth and he is of Indian origin.

Why should anything remotely connected to India become a matter of pride for our media?. This guy has nothing to do with India.

This guy is JUST an American with 'Indian ancestors'. He is NOT Indian. His ancestors ran away from India never to come back..and we cherish them as Indian contributors?? There are many Indians doing great work for India..rediff, could you please cover them instead? We need more stories of those instead of stories of Americans with 'Indian ancestors'.

We should stop glorifying all Tamilians who lives abroad including Viswanathan Anand who has abandoned Chennai. Will you agree? You Tamilians will appreciate only the achievements of Tamilians - narrow minded, self centered and highly communal people.

Please understand that the debate here is "Indian ness" (which Raja Chari hardly is). Your indecent abuse of all Tamils and pride in Telugu are both unwarranted here.

What is this "ran away" ? Dont write rubbish for the sake of it. There are people within India itself who have migrated to other parts. Have they also "ran away" ? Its human tendency to migrate to a place which gives you opportunity and livelihood. Dont knock it down.

I am not knocking anything down.. He is an American contributor..let America glorify him. Let us glorify an ISRO contributor. There are many Indians who knock down the abroad opportunities to contribute to India. I will glorify those Indians, as they help my nation building more.

Get out of your narrow minded nationalistic prism of viewing things. There are many people in India who stay back and dont achieve as much as they are capable because talent, skill is not given importance. Its all about nepotism, connections, your background, caste etc. If merit is given so much importance, India wouldnt still be a backward country.

Vijay, I don't know when you left India that you still carry a 20 year old outlook of the country. Things have changed dramatically. And "narrow minded nationalistic prism of viewing things"? It's OK to raise it with me but please don't mention it to people who elected Trump. You might put yourself in trouble. I care for you dear, take care.
