A small guide for IT act
by Krishnamoorthy v on Apr 12, 2017 09:44 AM

I am feeling the need for a guide for the IT act and ITRs. As railways are publishing timetable in all indian languages, why can't the income tax dept. send a guide and a form to the regular tax payers. They can well sell it for a price of Rs25 or Rs50. It is only a cunning way to keep the tax payers in dark and catch them to fine later. truly speaking the finance department does not want to educate the people over the tax payments and exemptions.

Tax net not expanded : why?
by G S Azad Azad on Apr 12, 2017 08:33 AM

I wonder if we as a Nation are incompetent to get more and more citizens hooked to the TaxNet . If the existing Tax Payers have to carry the load of the Nation , they would be getting penalised for being honest and law abiding whereas the evaders have a nice time !!! irony if the fate . BJP as Congress never questioned its own members who spurlge money on their daughters or sons weddings ? This is a mystery .

I am regularly paying income tax and filing return every year. I am not able to link PAN & AADHAR due to mismatch in name. I don’t know how to resolve this issue. If income tax authorities can allow to print short name (name with initial) on PAN card they should modify the portal for accepting short name also to link with aadhar card if the names on both cards are matching. For most of the south Indians are not having any supporting document to show full name to correct it on any document.
Even if UIDAI allows to correct the name on Aadhar card to full name based on PAN Data, again we are in trouble as we have to change to full name in Bank account , Election Card, Insurance Document, Property document, Vehicle document, Electricity bill , water bill & gas connection etc.
Hence it is requested to both authorities income tax and UIDAI that they may use separate method in coordination to allow to link these documents without changing name for such type of cases.

The ITO can open some windows in their office on all holidays with a dozen soft ware engineers to help the tax payers to link their aadhaar card and pan card for a small charge of Rs50. for every assessees. It takes just fifteen minutes for a a man who knows the job. so a charge of Rs50/ is reasonable for the service provider.

This is a very hard problem faced by many particularly south indians. The Government authorities/politicians are just turning a blind eye to this problem due to which public is forced to run from pillar to post without any solution from Government side.

How to sue IT dept
by nova on Apr 11, 2017 01:24 PM

Can anyone tell me how to sue IT dept? They keep on sending me notices for AY 2007, we have responded to them and several times and they have acknowledged our communication and have informed us that the matter was settled.
But they still keep on sending notices to us. We want to file case against them for not doing their duty properly, wasting public money and time.

IT Returns
by arungopal agarwal on Apr 11, 2017 12:29 PM  | Hide replies

More than 80% of individuals filing IT returns do not understand the complicated clauses of IT, just filing for the sake of compulsion.
Govt. must remove all above hurdles except for those who come in 30% bracket and straight away give allowance upto Rs.5-10 lacs and tax on rest of the money instead of HRA, investment, medical etc.,etc., separately.
Whenever anyone gets a call from IT, he becomes alert due to lack of knowledge and offer bribe to a Babu first to finish the querry. Why Modi govt. does not understand this simple thing.

Many MPs do not understand the complicated clauses of IT and hence absent them selves during the budget proposals. In fact no MP talks to the people ofer the recess to gain our views as they themselves do know what the proposals meant for the govt. and the tax payers. It is a pity that not even 25 to 30 MPs paticipate. In fact all tax proposals are "TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION".
