Disagree with the last point. If you pay attention to Agatha novels, you would find that the killer would mostly be the one which is most probable, unlike 99% other crime novels/tv serials. Agatha took care of this aspect

Recently hooked on to one of her best works \\\\\\\"Witness for the Prosecution\\\\\\\" for the nth time. This movie is the ample proof of Ms christie \\\\\\\"s area of excellence. Its an imperative watch for suspense movie lovers.

This article on writing techniques of Christie, one of the all time best Crime writers is a treat for her fans. Fans always likes to know the process, functions and methods applied by their favourite authors.
However only following her techniques will not necessarily mean that one can write a great murder mystery. That, of course,is a rare gift which combined with such useful techniques can produce one Christie. Her forte , I think, was very clever plotting and clues slipped in every day event or conversations and her settings.
