Uber and old should also be avaialble through mobile/phone contacts.Not just through Apps.Autos are uncontrolled and un manageable.They have meters which are never consistent.Many autos do not like meter fare
Ola,Uber can replace the arrogant & fleecers auto/taxi drivers and they should;but Ola cabs are not holi cows either. I had a very bad experience of OLA cab at Bengaluru;I & my wife had to go to B'luru airport early morning at 4am to catch flt.to Nagpur.We Being unfamiliar with the booking system my nephew booked OLA cab on his Mobile.After reaching airport he asked us to pay Rs.1500,being in hurry wee didnot make much fuss.After reaching Nagpur I told my sister about it and when my nephew checked the actual bill it was only aruond Rs.900.My b-in-law then complained and got refunded the remaining amt.This shows the thief like attitude of the OLA cab driver

Yes they can replace taxi and auto drivers. Specially in tier 2 cities they should replace autos as in most of the cities that i traveled i was taken for a ride by autowallas. In city like Chennai they don\'t operate by meter for at least outsiders like me. Most of the autos dont follow trtaffice rules and are in general least bothered about safety.
Governments should be strict with these and tell them it is common man who matters, not them.
