Not only the words were stolen from us but also
various items like yoga and meditation, various herbals grown in our country; in short even before the II world war many scientific particulars (like atom bomb etc) written by our ancient seers in Sanskrit were stolen by the westerners (the Germans first) and are now claiming authority to them .

Does anyone of us are aware of these and many more things that were lost by us through our indifference?

The writer appears to be unaware that there are at least 47 commonly used Hindi words included in English language dictionary. Besides there are numerous words from other Indian languages, like bandicoot, mongoose, pitta [from Telugu], bamboo, dhole and hijra [from Kannada], copra, jackfruit [from Malyalam], cataraman, cheroot, corundum, mulligatawny, patchouli, pandal [from Tamil], adda, jute [from Bengali] bhut jolokia [from Assamese] etc.

What the -?
by Srinivas Konuri on Oct 24, 2016 02:52 PM

English has also words from languages spoken by African Tribes, Aborigines in New Zealand & Australia, Native Americans and so on.

It does not compare in any way to the number words in Hindi derived from or which are corrupted versions of English words.

Beyond language what about things derived from the West in all walks of life - Fashion, Makeup, Clothing, Furniture, Music, Movies, Literature, Education, Business, Banking, Science, Engineering, Medicine .....

People in the West can get by without using Hindi words or things made or originating in India. Is the reverse possible?

Missed an important word stolen from us
by anjan roy on Oct 24, 2016 02:44 PM

"GOOGLE" in Indian a small snail found in ponds, a popular delicacy among village people, a best medicene to increase eye strength.

The word google comes to cricket for some deliveries by leg spinners that moves suddenly in spiral form to surprise the cricketer like the google's spiral shell.
They named the popular search engine by our word.
