War of Independence against corrupt congress is easier than
by ashish tiwari on Nov 15, 2016 08:13 PM  | Hide replies

war of independence against the british.

If we cannot face such small difficulties as a nation, then we cannot give good future to our children.

I agree Modi could have reduced the pain with better planning but we cannot ignore the larger issue of corrupt congress and its clones like lalu maya mamta and mulayam.

Are you not well off to write messages in rediff. Thats the success of this country and Congress is part of it right long before our independence. Now what we see are the ill effects of capitalism and all are responsible for that including BJP that ruled before and the present govt where our PM Modi who goes around foreign countries to bring in foreign investments. Modi's actions may be right or wrong future only will tell, but we exists as a proud nation now and Congress and our previous govts are responsible for it.

NO PANIC ANYWHERE
by gs pai on Nov 15, 2016 07:05 PM

There is no panic anywhere as shown in some particular news papers & electronic media, simply to malign the government. How much cash is needed by a family now a days to run a home ? Well-to-do persons are shown standing in queue at bank for drawing cash. Same pictures are shown repeatedly everyday by some print & electronic media. Reports are also there that some medias are showing the pictures of some other occasion or events happened long back. I agree that people had to face a little bit problem due to demonetisation, but it is not so big, as is shown by some media. Now-a-days all things are available through cashless transaction. Can anybody say yes, due to non-availability of cash, he/she had to go without food ? The truth is that we Indians have a tendency to keep huge cash & ornaments in their homes without any purpose, hence the sufferings. I think, steps taken by our honorable PM is in right direction which we all should respect and obey. So my appeal to all of you-do not pay heed to rumor, created by some politicians through various medias. In this hour of crisis, we should all give support to our PM in his endevour to wipe out corruption from the politics. Jai Hind.

cash
by Pradeep Narain on Nov 15, 2016 07:00 PM  | Hide replies

Most provision shop , Malls chemists and other shops accept cards, Petrol diesel no prob as of now. we need very little cash for daily needs. Things will surely settle down fast. Problems are being faced no doubt . But it appears there would be more benefits in long run. Imagine all black money is scrap. There may be woes but a large majority is happy .

only 2% is in plastic money, pls think from rural india not from metro and the fight against black money is for just 6% on total black money as the black money in the form of cash is 6% only, we are draining the water from the sea to catch big sharks where the fish is going to die by that time

Ease of Cash
by sai technologies on Nov 15, 2016 06:40 PM

Some suggestions to ease the cash crunch.
There may be many more good suggestions, but these are the points that struck to my mind.
• The farmers with less than 10 acres need to be exempted to repay their farm loans with old 500 and 1000 notes to the banks.
• All the Hundis in the temples (at least in piligrim places) may open them and allow piligrims to exchange their demonitized cash with smaller notes (@ 2500/ piligrim) and may be allowed to pay the temple seva fee / rom rents with the demonitized currency
• The limit on no of cheque leaves needs an upper revision in the wake of cash free transactions
• While most of the private service providers like Bus operators and travel sites are charging lower commission, the Government run IRCTC charges around 46/- per transaction service charges by the bank. This needs a drastic reduction.
• Government may think of cash handling charges over and above the Rs2500/- transaction to encourage the card usage. The charges should be on a prorate basis (higher the size of the cash transaction, higher should be the fee). Those who earn kickbacks and under the table funds anyway prefer the cash transaction but for every transaction they at least pay some fee which comes back to the govt
• All the debit card transactions should not attract any charges by the POS or by the bank, then only people will start using the cards. Currently, we use cash to avoid unnecessary charges for the transaction.

When the things will be ok
by Abhijit Joardar on Nov 15, 2016 06:27 PM

May be a good move but done without any prior preparation. By courtesy to his 'Yes Sir, No Sir' coterie, Modiji can never ever understand the agony of common people or can control more than 2 lakh ATM or even Banks etc. etc. Does he know many Bank Branches & Post Offices are not obeying proper timing, does he know how the police are handling people who are already exhausted because of standing in Q from early morning hours before the Bank opens.
Corrupt & Black money holders are sleeping as they can throw their currency, it is common people, daily-wage earners who are unable to sleep as they are clue-less 'Kal Paise Ka Jugar kaise karenge' (how to arrange money for tomorrow's family needs).
It is 100% surgical strike on common people which was not desired.

At least banks must have asked to function its every machinery in right way as a routine instructions could have been passed before demonetizing.
