it is as if we are reading last years stories once again. it was brought out last year also that (1) burning of purali by farmers, (2) old diesel vehicles, (3) construction activitiy etc was the cause of smogs in winter faced by delhi andother north india cities. NGT tried to remove the 10 year diesel vehicles; all politocos opposed the ban. the states did nothing to educate and curtail purali burning; delhi especially did nothing for the hazarous construction going on. Not only that no public minded person, NGO or civic authoritiy or leaders (we have so many of them) gave a call for no firecrackers on this deepawali which exacerberates this smog. I hope President will take up this by himself and see that next year we do not again end up reading the same news -- of fog and smog.
First clear all garbage, malba around road side everywhere, as people do not have any alternate except to burn it. We have not seen so far anyone running out of Delhi due to pollution, as such standard of air in Delhi should be enhanced from 100 to 500.
I appeal we should have some kind of artificial rain with the help of some choppers / helicopters ALL across Delhi / NCR... IT WILL HELP US TO REDUCE POLLUTING ELEMENTS WITHIN THE AIR.....
