I wonder why we rush to clap and feel proud in the success of Indian-Americans. India had no Part to play in the laurels that they have earned. The ONLY link they have to India is that their parents were from India. Some of these kids are 3rd generation immigrants, so let’s stop putting our hands the gravy and saying that they are our kids. If they had remained in India they would be growing up in a corruption and jaati arakshan obsessed country on a steady Diet of Cricket, Movies and silly cartoons.

well said! does he even care to call himself an India-American? I am sure he will be soon finding ways to get rid of the 'Indian'-American tag as he intends to become the Prez one day. Also no point in us bragging about his Indian Origin...Please outside India, even Indians behave as if they are not from India. Most of them 'intend' to come home to die as they know probably their kids are going to kick them out or their daughters would be following the 'Open' culture which they cannot bear because of the hypocrisy. Any ways, I surely congratulate the kid, not for his 'Indian'-American roots, but he is a true genius, and I think that has to be considered instead of the place where he originates from.

I agree with you. The college, parents, professors and everybody involved should take a step back and have the look at the given situation and let the young man take his time to study and then become a doctor at 25-26 years of age rather then just making him a doctor at age 18 for the sake of records.
