What is the deep-inside meaning of soft skills?
by Harkishan Haswani on May 20, 2016 08:48 PM

The deep-inside meaning of soft skills is - if you want to succeed in job keep your brain at home and obey your boss/bosses on as is where is basis - that would result in your success i.e. you would get higher post, higher salary though you might be a fool in fact to find yourself in a soup (great scam / blunder).

Hard Sills or Core Skills is a must for a blue collared employee

We hear a lot about soft skills at present in different forums. I fully agree that soft skills is a must and it will take you a lot further if you are a office employee ie in white collared jobs but when it comes to actual on floor duty it is important that the job doer should have the core skill. Ms Neeti Sharma will agree that if a plumber visits her home for fixing a washing machine tap and explains her the tap fixing process but cannot actually fix the tap and get her washing machine started no amount of his soft skills will pacify her. Whereas is a good skilled plumber visits her house fits the washing machine tap get her washing machine started hardly talks cleans the place where he has done his work charges her a decent amount and walks out of her home in five mins she will not only be happy but speak will about that plumber to ten of her friends.

Soft Skills without the core skills may help you to get a job (employment) but cannot help you to do the job or retain if for long.

Where in this article, is a suggestion in favour of acquiring soft skills at the cost of hard skills?
As put correctly in the end, hard skills are the foundation while soft skill is the cement

Well said Ramesh,
The point to be taken is the value add from soft skills...
Given equal core skill, the one with better soft skills will always score over the one with no soft skills. Whoever wouldn\'t want to have around some one who knows the job and also knows how to conduct well in the system?
