My way
by Swarup Saikia on May 16, 2016 09:34 AM

I just stopped eating sweets (mithai) and roadside junks completely from 1st Jan 2016, and I lost 5 kilos in 5 months (no other food restrictions). I do regular freehand exercise. I found this to be the easiest healthy way to lose weight

Where is the fitness

Great you lost weight but fitness is something altogether different thing. I feel surprised that you never added exercise to your daily regime. You must exercise or least walk daily a few kilometers to keep fit and healthy

exercise during dieting increases craving for food!

Hunger?
by Santosh Kumar on May 10, 2016 10:39 AM  | Hide replies

Good to know your method of losing weight. I have a question though; by varying your diet, I know you developed cravings, but controlled them. What about hunger? Did you feel hungry? Everytime I cut down on food a bit, i feel hungry and weak... so dieting for me is kind of ruled out. By changing our diet to simpler/lighter food.... will we get less calories, and therefore more hunger or more weakness?

Space out your food into 6 meals, rather then diet. cut down by 300-400 calories maximum. avoid high carbs/sugars. so 6 equal meals of 250 to 300 calories spread over 12 hours.. seeing proteins in each meal of about 8 to 10 grams at least.
and moderate exercise... lifting weights 20-30 mins a day. taking stairs to work etc.. standing up every hour for 3-4 mins.
So that's the aim: never too hungry, never to full!!!
and let me know how it turns out for you.

Thanks Shaliest. 6 meals for a guy working in office is not possible. I eat 4 times... the 3 main meals plus snacks in evening (which is Idli or Dosa)...i try to ensure i feel hungry for the next meal.... which i think is sufficient to ensure I am not over-eating....

Thanks for your pointers though.... much appreciated.

let me give an example of a complete meal: a glass of protein meal in morning apple, a bottle of buttermilk that you can carry with you, a chana-chat!

all the best.
