Dr BR Ambedkar submitted 2 copies of handwritten draft to parliment on 4th Nov 1947. It was exactly 162 days since he had given the responsibility on 16th Aug 1947 by Gandhiji. The approval committee consisting of 362 people in parliment took more than 1000 days to approve the constitution. Dr BR Ambedkar was prompt in his duty, but the committee was very reluctant to adopt the book of rules written by a backward community person. Later the approval committee approved the draft on 24th Jan 1950 & said that we will bring the constitution effective from 26th Jan 1950 as it coincides purna swaraj of 1930. Please change the explaination of the answer b'coz Dr BR Ambedkar did not take 3 yrs write the constitution.

Appreciate that Dr. B.R. Ambedkar took 162 days to draft constitution while it took 1000 days to approve it. But then thats what negotiation and discussion is all about. Take one's own office. Boss asks us report for say a meeting. We prepare it ASAP. But the same is discussed by our bosses, seniors, etc and before it is put up for final meeting. And all these procedures take time.
