Why don't you preach to Americans? they have changed the english in their own way and Indians also have a right. One great misconception in India is that those who speak English are intelligent and educated. The japanese,french,russian,german laugh at us when we speak in english with the. They will be happy if we speak in hindi rather than English.

Amit is right. I mean some localized aspect like mother promise and cousin brother must come. English is not a good language in defining relations. For example, brother-in law indicates three different relationships We Indians keep good relations with our relatives. Hence, no wrong in defining as Cousin Brother or Cousin Sister.

No foreigner has laughed at me when i speak to them in english in last 20 years !! i don't think they will be happy - if i speak to them in my local language - which in anyway they will not understand to be happy !
