I would like to differ with the writer that Mahindra is 'new' to the two wheeler segment. After all they bought out the ailing Kinetic Motors, which had thrust one disaster after another (in the name of two-wheelers) on the market. To top it all, the relatively successful ones were discontinued and Kinetic kept pushing the disasters like Nova 135 and Boss. When Mahindra took over, they promptly changed the logo of Nova and relaunched it in the name of Duro. A few months down the line, certain technical improvements were brought in. They increased the length of the timing chain by 2 slots, modified the cam shaft and crank, altered the valve sequence and re-adjusted the mechanism of the centrifugal clutch. This did bring about some dramatic improvements in performance, but Mahindra were let down massively by their after-sales and service departments. This caused a lot of heartburn in customers who had banked on the brand value of Mahindra. Then these guys further compounded their mistake by constantly ignoring the owners of Kinetic two-wheelers, who approached them for service or spares. All their sales and service personnel had been trained to repeat the phrase 'this is not Kinetic, so we can't help you'. Had they offered a good deal to owners of Kinetic vehicles, their market share would have been far greater. For a vehicle owner, the actual vehicle is just a part of the package. The after-sales support is what customers take into account when buying a new 2-wheeler.
Now a days every co is focussing on two wheelers more so after the odd even restrictions and banning of diesel vehicles in the city. Think its time for maruti to give us a two wheeler.. !
What ever may be the features of gusto, the experience of owners of earlier models like duro etc is worst. The after sales service even more worse. All earlier owner of Mahindra two wheeler will oppose purchase from Mahindra brand.

Please do not buy M & M two wheelers, because they are very poor in service and spares sector. Me and few of my friends & relatives in Ranchi who bought these vehicles are left in the lurch. M&M 2 wheelers have poor resale value.
