According to a poll

conducted among a cross section of Americans by Playboy magazine in the year 2012 to gauge their perception of attractiveness of people of different ethnicities/raxces, Indians came 22nd among 28 ethnicities !

The Indians were regarded with so much indifference and derisiveness/distaste for their physical attractiveness that they were placed far behind even the much reviled and usually shunned black Americans !

The Chinese were ahead of the Indians, the Japanese were ahead of the Indians, every European ethnicity was ahead of the Indians except one (the Gypsies) and the American blacks were ahead of the Indians! And among Asians, besides the Chinese and the Japanese, the Iranians, the Lebanese, the Syrians, the Thais and the Philippinos were each placed ahead of the Indians !

The survey measured the respondents perception of physical charm, desirability, likeability and sociability of the different ethnicities.

The survey findings go well with the general luke warm disposition of the American world of show business to Indian hopefuls in modelling and acting. It is said that for every person of Indian origin in the American fashion / film industry and Broadway, there are at least 7 Chinese, 2 Philippinos and 1 Lebanese.

and why should it matter to anyone what americans think of indians or indian americans. And Perception of people keeps changing very decade. In india people don't think chinese look good while americans like chinese looking. Its a matter of choice. Nothing wrong if someone deoes not find indians attractive. You seem to suffer from some inferiority complex and are self hating. i have seem your comments and almost everywhere u post the same thing that indians are not good looking.

Unfortunately, those Americans whose thoughts and opinions you say ought not to matter to anyone rarely ever have Indians or even PIOs in their thoughts (just about like Indians rarely ever have Burundians or Rwandans in their minds) !

On the contrary, PIOs and Indians (at least those Indians who are literate enough to have heard about America and Americans) almost always implicitly regard America and Americans as the standard bearers and touchstones in almost any aspect of life and living !

This is an amply evident fact of life for the overwhelming majority of middle and upper class Indians, is it not ?
