Hyper loop trains
by Ashwin on Dec 08, 2016 07:32 PM

We need to reach Airports at least 1 hr in advance & spend 1 hr to reach Airport. If we can do away with domestic Air Travel with this hyper loop capsule/train since this appears to be even faster, it will be very good project. But how much would it cost & to users? How much energy would it consume & where from do we generate? Already there is limit on Carbon emission. Govt has already planned 100 Smart Cities at a cost of 40 Lak Crores. Californian Co asked for land to test & it cant be 10 miles but even for trial, it has to be 300 or 500 miles. Which Cities to they connect on trial run? Will it be permanent? One of the main reasons why train travel consume more time is not just speed but (1) No of stops - to connect smaller towns (2) Single tracks (3) Level crossings (4) Un/Loading Cargo & pantry items If we can correct these (unavoidable at present) hurdles, we can easily save almost 40% of running time, which is in itself great. If we can replace Air Travel completely, by introducing hyper loop trains, we must certainly try/introduce them. They will most likely also avoid several accidents, very common in Indian scenario, at present. Govt must also plan what they will do with so many Engines, bogies & other infrastructure which consumed laks of Crores. It is a very complex project though very much desirable which saves lot of time for all kinds of train travelers.
Hope good things will be introduced, taking into considerations, all pros & con

Speed

Lets be a realist for now and not get carried away by hype and hoopla like many in the present set up.Even if its feasible, who will avail of this and what would be the cost of travel to the average and even high end passengers. Surely things dont come cheap and revenue model of all such new age techs are revenue per user and thats where the problem would start. Would the govt subsidise the fareand why should they when existing expressway designed for many years are already serving well. Technology is fine but in the end it should make sound business sense t o the promoter and also factor in user response and willingness to pay or else it would remain a white elephant in the room.

Why cant we think Positive. Why always we think in negative sense and thats the reason why we are lacking behind. Technology is must to go ahead in present situation. India is not a poor nation. We can afford but first we have to make sure that we don't get involved in corrupt practice. Lets be clear.

Is it necessary to produce more children & stay in eternal poverty?
People do not even fairly pay due taxes. How do we expect that Govt: should takeup such projects?.

poors will keep existing. even in your body tre are weak cells and strong cells. Nature worksthe way that weak cell die and strong continue. Poverty cant be irradicated by someone ese. The person who is poor has to himself work on that. Instead tedency is that keep feeding them and make them useless. Why we always keep crying about poor poor? Everything has to go in parallel. If you cant afford then make yourself competent to afford it. People talk same way about trains. Why bullet train? You want to travel in filthy trains continus. If I can afford to travel in clean bullet train I will.

Dont be first in line in the race for this capsule. It is better to queue up behind others who have launched it watch how it works for atleast two years.
