Do not work so that the Boss feels threatened his his/her job.

Criticism can be positive or negative. Hence there is no point in using \"appreciated\" as an opposite to criticism.

One more reason is pulling back the genuinely eligible person to promote an undue junior. Happened in my case. Though there were vacancies and I have Officiated in the higher post for two months on ad-hoc basis, the panel wasdelayed for 11 long months till my retirement so that i do not get the promotions. This was done by most junior who was not in the vicinity of promotion.

The Employer wants the following from his or her slave :

1) Must have High Academic Qualification with Multiple Degrees, High Percentage (Preferably Distinction) throughout his or her Educational life.

2) Must be Good looking.

3) Must be well behaved, obedient, should Bow down to everyone.

4) Must ask for the Lowest Salary (Irrespective of Inflation or Deflation), and be content with whatever Employer can afford to pay.

5) Must be Hard working - Should come in Early & Go home Late, do Overtime without payments.

6) Should be able to Train & help peers even if imparting a skill set can endanger the same employees future in that company.

7) Should Reach Targets with least Error rates, yet not ask for raise in salary.

8) Must not pass Judgements on Management or Higher authorities even if they are hurting us in any way intentionally or otherwise.

9) Males must also be Feminists and put W0men above our self interests.

10) Please the Boss at any cost.

The most important reason now a days is caste based as it happened in my case. If you do not belong to the management or principal caste then you will not get promotion.
