Any attempt to make Ganesh idols eco-friendly is welcome. Please ensure you make small sized Ganeshas out of eco-friendly material. Also normal paint containing lead should be avoided. Why not switch over to permanent Ganeshas of Plastic or Brass for decoration puprpose and for 'Shashtra' purpose install a small Ganesh made of Clay and unpainted?
